Who We Are

Our mission is rooted in compassion, justice, and hope, seeking to transform lives through meaningful action and advocacy.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

If you use the Gravatar service, an anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to check if you’re registered. The Gravatar privacy policy can be found here: Gravatar Privacy Policy. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will appear alongside it.

Media

If you upload images to our site, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location information from uploaded images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter them for future comments. These cookies will last for one year.

For visitors to our login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we save cookies to store your login details and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, while screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove all login cookies.

If you edit or publish content, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser, indicating the post ID of the article edited. This cookie expires after one day.

Embedded Content

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, or articles) from third-party websites. Embedded content behaves as if you have visited the third-party site directly. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

Data Sharing

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-up comments without holding them in a moderation queue.

For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their profiles. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information anytime (except their username). Website administrators also have access to edit this information.

Your Data Rights

If you have an account or have left comments on our site, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data provided to us. You may also request that we delete your personal data, excluding information required for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
